About Walk Now for Autism

Walk Now for Autism, the nation's largest grassroots autism walk program, is Autism Speaks' signature fundraising and awareness event, taking place in communities across the United States, as well as in Canada and the United Kingdom. Powered by volunteers and families with loved ones on the autism spectrum, this successful grassroots fundraising effort not only generates vital funds for autism research but also raises awareness about the increasing prevalence of autism and the need for increased research funding to combat this complex disorder.

2008 National Walk Sponsor:

Toys"R"Us is proud to be the national sponsor of both the 2007 and 2008 Autism Speaks’ Walk Now for Autism program. In conjunction with Autism Awareness Month in April 2008, Toys"R"Us will also conduct an in-store fundraising campaign in all of its locations nationwide. In 2007 the program raised more than $1.1 million to benefit Autism Speaks. Additionally, the Toys"R"Us Children's Fund provided a $250,000 grant to Autism Speaks to help solve the autism puzzle. Across the country, Toys"R"Us employees are joining in the effort by forming teams in their local communities to participate in the walk events. As a company with a long history of advocating for all children, Toys"R"Us is committed to providing a voice for children and families affected by autism.
