Walk Day Information

Walk Now for Autism is a family-friendly event so bring the whole family along.  There are activities for the children, resources for families, light refreshments and entertainment.  It is a non-competitive 4 k walk around Cheney Stadium in the Tacoma area.  Our goal is to raise money for autism research. 

There is no minimum donation to participate, but $100 in donations will earn you a t-shirt.   Raise more and earn other great incentives such as jackets, hats, umbrellas, etc.  It all goes to finding a cure, the causes and effective treatments for autism!

Location:  Cheney Stadium - Home of the Tacoma Rainiers Baseball

2502 S. Tyler St. in Tacoma

Time: 9:00 a.m.
Registration opens: 9:00 a.m.
Resource Fair opens: 9:00 a.m.
Walk Start: 10:00 a.m.

Directions:  Take I-5 to exit 132, Hwy. 16 westbound.  Take exit 2B - S. 19th St and turn right (eastbound).  Then turn right on Cheyenne.  Go past Foss Field and follow it around to Cheney Stadium at 2502 S. Tyler St. in Tacoma.

Parking: Plenty of free parking!

Activities: The children can enjoy face painting, bounce houses, and many other activities.  Families will enjoy the tables with local resources, and some light refreshments.  Come see Rhubarb, the Rainiers mascot.  Enjoy music, plenty of fun and comraderie.

The walk will take place rain or shine!

Donations: Walkers should bring their donations and walk sponsor forms with them prior to the start of the walk.  You can also mail them in advance and go through EZ registration or do it all on-line!  Donations can be mailed to: Autism Speaks, Donations Dept, 5455 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 2250, Los Angles, CA  90036.  Please enclose a donation form with the check so it will be credited to you and your team.  The form can be found on your personal webpage under goals off-line donation.  (It can take up to four weeks before donations show on your page.)

Raise at least $100 and earn a free t-shirt which you can pick up at the walk.  Raise even more and earn other incentives such as jackets, ipods, etc.  There is no minimum dollar amount required to walk however.  All funds go toward Autism research!

EZ Pass - Already registered and no money to turn in. Just check in to get your t-shirt!

Check-in - Already registered and has money to turn in.  Be sure to bring your donation forms with the money.

Walk-ins - Not registered yet, with or without money to turn in.

Be a brochure distributor!  Order brochure holders, brochures, and posters to place at your doctors office, coffee shop, local business!  Just e-mail tacoma@autismspeaks.org or call 866-362-6227.  Also call for a captains packet!
