Walk Day Information

Walk Now for Autism is a family-friendly event so bring the whole family along.  There are activities for the children, resources for families, light refreshments and entertainment.

Strollers are not allowed on the field.  Staff will be on hand to assist with stroller check-in.

Arriving from the Loop...Southbound on Lake Shore Drive (or southbound on Columbus Drive), and move toward the right lanes as you approach Soldier Field.  Proceed to the 18th Street exit, which is the first exit on the right after you pass Soldier Field.  Note:  You can only exit 18th Street from the far right lane of the southbound Lake Shore Drive.  If you miss the 18th Street exit, you will have to go all the way to 31st Street to turn around.  When you exit at 18th Street, turn left at the bottom of the exit and go under the viaduct.  Follow this road to the entrance to the Waldron Deck, which is on the left. 

Arriving from the North...Take the Edens Expressway (I-94) eastbound until it merges into the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94).  Continue on the Kennedy (I-90/94) past the Loop to the Taylor Street/Roosevelt Road exit.  Take this exit to Roosevelt Road, which is the second stoplight off the exit, and turn left onto Roosevelt Road.  Follow Roosevelt Road to Columbus Drive, and turn right onto southbound Columbus Drive.   Stay in the right lane as Columbus Drive feeds into southbound Lake Shore Drive and proceed to the 18th Street exit, which is the first exit on the right after you pass Soldier Field.  Note:  You can only exit 18th Street from the far right lane of the southbound Lake Shore Drive.  If you miss the 18th Street exit, you will have to go all the way to 31st Street to turn around.  When you exit at 18th Street, turn left at the bottom of the exit and go under the viaduct.  Follow this road to the entrance to the Waldron Deck, which is on the left. 

Arriving from the West...Take the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) eastbound until it turns into Congress Parkway. Continue on Congress Parkway until it dead ends at Columbus Drive (Buckingham Fountain will be directly in front of you). Turn right onto Columbus Drive and proceed until Columbus Drive feeds into southbound Lake Shore Drive. Stay in the far right lane and proceed to the 18th Street exit, which is the first exit on the right after you pass Soldier Field. You can only exit 18th Street from the far right lane of southbound Lake Shore Drive. If you miss the 18th Street exit, you will have to go all the way to 31st Street to turn around.   When you exit at 18th Street, turn left at the bottom of the exit and go under the viaduct. Follow this road to the entrance to the Waldron Deck, which is on the left. 

Arriving from the South...Travel northbound on Lake Shore Drive past McCormick Place, and move to the right-hand lane as you approach 18th Street. Turn right onto 18th Street and proceed to the entrance to the Waldron Deck, which is on the left. 

Activities:  Bounce Houses, Music, Food, Games, and a Resource Fair for the grown ups.
