On behalf of Autism Speaks and the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC) we want to thank you, the Arizona community, for a great walk day! On Sunday, Nov. 1, approximately 12,000 people gathered at Tempe Beach Park for great entertainment and informative Resource Fair exhibits while raising over $55,000. Today, we find Arizona with approximately $450,000 funds raised (some money still needs to be turned in), getting that much closer to our goal of $500,000.
Good Luck to Iron People's Walk Team Brooke and John! They are competing in the Arizona Ironman this weekend and continue to raise funds and provide support to the autism community. Thank you both!
Bundt Cakes - Yummy! With the holidays coming up and so many busy people, leave the cooking to Team Gecko. Several grocery and baking stores have donated the supplies, so all funds raised will go to their team. Cake choices are cranberry or gluten-free pumpkin. Thank you to the students in the Health Occupations Student of America (HOSA) group who attend the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT). Their walk team hosted a great event on Saturday night. It was a comedy hypnotist show held at their campus. Over 200 people attended and fun was had by all! Donations are still being collected and the team is well on their way to raising $2,000 for autism.
Thank you to the WP Caring Walk Team from ASU for hosting a Dine at Chili's event.
Your event can be listed here!
Fundraising is still going on by many teams and will count until the end of the year. Please join one of these teams to help with their wrap around events, or start your own.
