"The puzzle pattern reflects the mystery and complexity of the autism spectrum." (ASA) When a child is diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, it leaves us asking questions, seeking answers, and knocking on many, many doors looking for something or someone who can make a difference. Autism Speaks is making a difference, and so can you by making a donation through our walk team.
We are walking for autism, because we support research that helps us to understand this disorder better and can identify the best therapeutic techniques to help these individuals assimilate into society. We are walking for autism, because we believe it is necessary to increase awareness of this disorder among educators and healthcare providers of young children, so that affected individuals can be identified as soon as possible and their behaviors dealt with appropriately for maximum benefit. We are walking for autism, because we want the next parent whose child is diagnosed with autism to have access to the best information and resources available.
