Walk Day Information
PLEASE NOTE: Given the large number of charitable events taking place in and around the GTA this time of years, the Ontario Walk Now for Autism is being held on the same day as Ride for Heart. This will mean that some highways will be closed. Please ensure you factor this into your travel plans to arrive at the event. Thank you for your patience.
Some Frequently Asked Questions -
Where can I park?
There is lots of parking right under the Square - entrances off Queen and Bay Street. Cost to park for the day is $6.
What time should I get there?
Feel free to arrive anytime after 8:30 AM when the event opens, actitivities begin, registration gets underway.
Opening Ceremonies start at 9:45.
Where do I go when I get to the Square?
If you have money/pledges to turn in please to go registration first - located right outside the doors of city hall.
If you raised $100 or more, you will be given a ticket to claim your event Tshirt at registration.
If you have no money to turn in but have raised $100 or more on-line or through donations, mailed in, please go to registration to receive your Tshirt ticket.
Grand Club Members may register directly at the VIP/Grand Club Tent located beside the stage.
What if I'm Late?
Registration will be open throughout the Walk, so don't worry!
What if its raining?
The Walk takes place rain or shine! We may have to stop some activities (bounce houses) but everything else keeps running!
What Next?
Enjoy yourself - all activities open at 8:30. Visit the Resource Fair or the Jays on the Road. Take a bounce or a slide - get your face painted or a tattoo - blow some bubbles in the Activity area. Don't forget to have your Team photo taken at the northwest corner of the pond.
What Time Does The Walk Start?
Opening Ceremonies start at 9:45 and Walk starts at 10.
How Long is the Walk?
The walk is about 3.5 km long
Where are we walking?
The route is: west on Queen to University-North on University to Dundas-East on Dundas to Yonge-South on Yonge to Queen-West on Queen to the Square.
Do I have to Walk?
No - if for any reason you cannot walk, please stay on the Site and enjoy the activities. If you cannot complete the full route, just head back to the Square when you are done.
