Walk Now for Autism is a family-friendly event so bring the whole family along. There are activities for the children, resources for families, light refreshments and entertainment. The walk day is a festival that celebrates all of the work that each walker accomplishes prior to walk day to raise awareness & funds for autism research! All individuals need to register online prior to Walk Day or at Registration on Walk Day.
Date: Saturday, October 10, 2009
Location: Lowe's Motor Speedway - Concord, NC (Driving directions & map)
Parking: Enter Lowe's Motor Speedway from Highway 29. Follow signs to the left around the track to the access road at Gate 26. Follow the signs to Registration in the infield at the Sprint Garage.
Walk Distance: We encourage you to walk 3 laps on the track. Each lap is 1.25 miles. Do as many or as few laps as you are physically able.

Opening Ceremony: 9:50 AM @ Stage
Walk Start: 10 AM @ Stage
Grand Club Induction: 11 AM @ Stage
Closing Ceremony: 11:30 AM @ Stage
WALK DAY HIGHLIGHTS
It promises to be a day of surprises! The Charlotte Checkers CheckMates will perform and sign autographs. Meet Chubby from the Charlotte Checkers and Geoffrey the Giraffe from Toys R Us. Music is provided by WSOC FM, WFNZ, and KISS 95.1 and K104.7. The national anthem will be sung by Erin Fox. Meet Team Aruba Drag Racing & Steve Ruggles Open Racing. Children can enjoy Star Wars 501st Legion, bounce houses, face painting, coloring, temporary Autism Speaks tattoos, and much more! Join Emcees Charlie & Debbie from the Charlie & Debbie Show from WSOC 103.7 FM, Tanner and Chris Allen from the Tanner in the Morning Show on WSOC FM 103.7 and Jamie Boll from WBTV News Channel 3! Learn about area resources in the Community Resource Fair. Enjoy meeting other walkers and special guests for a day of food, fun and music as well as the chance to walk on the track and in the Sprint Cup Garage!
Participate in the Team Tee Shirt Contest & Wagon Parade!
A Quiet Room will be available in the Media Building for any family needing an area to retreat.
Only service animals are allowed at Walk Now for Autism Speaks.

Grand Club members are fundraisers for Carolinas Walk Now for Autism who raise at least $1000 for Autism Speaks and receive special membership benefits for their efforts.

2009 Grand Club ~ Walk Day Highlights: Enjoy "blue carpet treatment" on Walk day at the Grand Club! Individuals who raise at least $1000 to join the Carolinas Grand Club will enjoy the following benefits for their hard work: member only parking & registration, goodie bags, games, special photos & snacks, relaxation area, massage therapy from Dolce Lusso & more! Additionally, all individuals who submit their donations (online or with your donation form from your personal page) by October 1st will be recognized by our emcees at the Carolinas Walk Now for Autism Speaks!
