Well here we go, year 2 for team Aerotek for Anna! For those of you who participated last year, thank you once again and welcome back! For those of you who are new to our team, welcome and thanks so much for being a part of Aerotek for Anna.
Last year was amazing….we raised well over 12K, had over 75 walkers on walk day and surpassed all of our wildest expectations. The question is now, how do we do it again??? The answer is simple…with your help!
We are planning several events to create opportunities for all to participate. Our hope again is that you will create your own individual team and help us raise money through your network of family/friends/co-workers.
Oh, by the way the beautiful little girl you see here is our Anna. Gaby and I are so proud of her and how far she has come. The growth she has shown in the last year has been amazing. That being said, we continue to have daily battles with her autism and are hopeful to someday overcome it. Anna is scheduled to start kindergartner in the fall of 2009 and we are excited about the possibilities.
“Your child has autism.”
These four simple words define the facts. They are useful in explaining the past but they do not predict the future. They do not convey the devastating toll that autism has had on our family nor limit our determinedness to overcome this disorder. They are words that a new family will hear every 20 minutes.
By participating in this event, our hope is that we will soon hear “Your child no longer has autism.”
Thank you again for taking the time to consider being a part of our team or making a donation. Any amount is very appreciated and we can’t say enough how much it means to us….that being said, we finished 2008 as the #1 team in Kansas City and I fully plan on repeating in 2009!!
