Walk Now for Autism 2009

Wow,

Here we are again with Walk Season upon us. A lot of exciting things have happened this year. We celebrated Cole's 16th birthday at an indoor SkyDive Center and Cole will be testing for his black belt this fall.

We are still struggling to find the right school for Cole. It is challenging to find the right balance of life skills, emotional support, and a challenging curriculum; but we're certainly not giving up. Cole will tour some schools over the summer break and we are working with an advocate so that his IEP is solid.

Autism Speaks continues to make strides in our local community and across the world. The difference in autism awareness from when Cole was diagnosed is amazing. The website is also continually updated with resources for families and friends of those struggling with autism so be sure to check it out at www.autismspeaks.org

I love volunteering for this organization and have seen first hand how much can be accomplished. I continue to be grateful for your unwavering support.
