I'll never forget the day when a specialist finally handed us a note that said 'Brandon has PDD-NOS' to give to his teacher. I had no idea what that diagnosis was...so I immidiately went home and looked it up.

That was the day that I found out that my Brandon was on the spectrum.

These words..PDD-NOS, Asperger's Syndrome.. Autism...define the facts. Those words began us on the journey of understanding our son.

Many of you have walked our path too, some along with us, crying and laughing alongside, some behind us, pushing us along...and some of you..leading the way with your own struggles.

I want to ask you now...will you either join my team
'A Different Kind of Smart' and help raise money for autism; walking with me in November...helping reach the team goal of $2000?

Or if you don't have time to walk and raise funds, will you please donate personally to my page and help me reach my personal goal of $500? Any amount would help.

'your child has autism' are words that a new family will hear every 20 minutes.

I will tell you from my personal experience...It's a very confusing path when your child isn't quite what the world expected.

By participating in this event, my hope is that I will soon hear “Your child no longer has autism.” Can you even imagine?
