Seeing the world from a different perspective is both the bane and beauty of autism. With autism, challenges must be overcome and a way must be paved to ensure a better future for people with autism. Understanding and awareness are the keys to helping people like Gray join in the world and contribute to it. Autism Speaks is committed to changing the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders. Autism Speaks is funding research, raising awareness of, and giving voice to the autism community. Autism Speaks is committed to clearing the way for 1 in every 150 children born today who are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder and to assuring future generations do not have to confront the obstacles of autism. And it is why we will be walking for the 7th year in the 2009 Carolinas Walk Now for Autism Speaks.
